p/s: WOW! We've been away from quite some time now eyh? Well, the soulofindie team had a busy weekend the past week and we sincerely apologize for the lack of update. But rest assured, we're back with a cracker! One truly amazing artist. Even the queen of media - Perez Hilton admire her talent.
This time round, we've got Meiko (Mee-ko)! Her name might sounds a little asian orientated, but don't be fool! Meiko is born and raise in Roberta, Georgia. Currently residing at Los Angeles, California instead. She released a self-titled album on September 1, 2007 and several tracks have been featured in primetime TV shows. Her songs "Reasons to Love You" and "Hawaii" were featured in the fourth season of Grey's Anatomy, while "Sleep" was featured in an episode of the CBS program Moonlight. Without the help of a record label, her album reached #35 on the iTunes Top 100 Albums chart. It was also iTunes’ #1 Folk album for over a month and as of June 2008, over 200,000 singles have been downloaded from iTunes. Owh, did I mention Meiko was featured as an "Indie Spotlight" artist in the iTunes Store before?
